Description:
The City of Desloge is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Park and Recreation Director. We are looking for a dedicated leader who is passionate about community engagement, park management, and recreational programming.
The Park and Recreation Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the operations and activities of the City’s parks. This role includes overseeing staff, managing budgets, coordinating events, and ensuring the community has access to safe, clean, and enjoyable recreational spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee recreational programs and events.
- Manage and maintain city parks, playgrounds and sports fields.
- Prepare and monitor budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Recruit, train, and supervise park and recreation staff.
- Ensure safety standards and compliance with relevant regulations.
Compensation:
- Starting salary of $47,380.00 per year.
- Salary is negotiable based on experience.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED, and three (3) to five (5) years of experience.
- Supervisory experience.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
