Tax Day is Tuesday — Still Time to File if You Haven’t Already

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - If you haven’t filed your taxes yet, you’re not alone — and you still have time.

Tax Day is this Tuesday, April 15th, and Missourians have until 11:59 p.m. to submit their returns. The Missouri Department of Revenue encourages residents to file electronically to ensure faster processing and fewer errors. Trish Vincent with the Department says e-filing is the best option for most people.

Vincent says not only is electronic filing more secure, but it helps avoid common mistakes that can slow down your refund. Federal and state taxes must both be filed by the Tuesday night deadline to avoid penalties.
