Cape Girardeau, Mo. (KFMO) - Southeast Missouri kept to its winning ways last Saturday, taking down Gardner-Webb 30-24 to improve to 8-1 on the season.
Gardner-Webb (2-6, 1-3) jumped out to an early 14-0 lead in the 1st quarter, but the Redhawks (8-1, 5-0) soon got back to what most have come to expect from the team this year. SEMO scored 24 unanswered points to take a 24-14 lead early in the 3rd quarter.
The Runnin' Bulldogs finally answered with a touchdown on its first drive of the second half, but the Redhawks kept them at arm's length the rest of the way to pick up the Homecoming win.
Paxton DeLaurent completed 35 passes for 312 yards and 2 touchdowns. Cole Ruble rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown. The Redhawks are on a bye week next week, before a game against Lindenwood on November 9.
