(Cape Girardeau, MO) If you're looking for area talent beyond the high school level, then look no further than the Southeast Missouri (SEMO) Redhawks football team. The Redhawks have done an impressive job of recruiting from the St. Francois and Jefferson County areas, bringing in local high school standouts that have bolstered their roster and brought local pride to their program. Among the recruits from these areas are:
Nolan Reed - Junior - Bonne Terre, Mo. (North County)
Andrew Civey - Redshirt Freshman - Bonne Terre, Mo. (North County)
Judd Cunningham - Junior - Farmington, Mo. (Farmington)
Cole Ruble - Sophomore - Imperial, Mo. (Seckman)
Payton Brown - Freshman - Hillsboro, Mo. (Hillsboro)
Zach Hudson - Redshirt Freshman - Imperial, Mo. (Seckman)
Anthony Westervelt - Redshirt Freshman - Imperial, Mo. (Seckman)
Much of this successful recruitment can be attributed to Jeromy McDowell, the former North County Raider head coach and current Southeast Missouri Redhawks Offensive Coordinator. McDowell's deep ties to the local high school football scene and his keen eye for talent have been instrumental in bringing these high school standout players to SEMO. His ability to identify and develop local talent has not only strengthened the Redhawks' roster but has also fostered a sense of community and local pride in the team.
The Southeast Missouri Redhawks kick off their college football season on a national stage as they will face the North Alabama Lions in the 10th annual FCS Kickoff at the historic Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama, on Saturday, August 24, live on ESPN.
