St. Charles, Mo. (KFMO) - Southeast Missouri's 7-game winning streak came to an end Saturday, as the Redhawks were upset by Lindenwood 24-12.
SEMO (8-2, 5-1) trailed the Lions (5-6, 4-3) 14-6 at the half, then 21-6 after Lindenwood scored first in the 3rd quarter. Quarterback Paxton DeLaurent picked up a touchdown run to decrease the deficit to 9 at 21-12, but the Redhawks failed the 2-point conversion to keep it a two score game. Finally, Lindenwood capped off their upset win with a field goal to give the final score of 24-12.
The Redhawks drop to #13 in the latest AFCA rankings. They'll try to get back in the win column this Saturday against Western Illinois.
