31st Annual Jefferson County Family Violence Conference Set for October 4th

Hillsboro, Mo. (KFMO) - The 31st Annual Jefferson County Family Violence Conference will take place Friday, October 4th, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus in Hillsboro.

The event provides free, comprehensive training for a variety of professionals and community members working to combat domestic violence and support victims. Registration and a continental breakfast will be available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

This annual conference serves as a vital resource for domestic violence advocates, survivors, and service providers. It also welcomes juvenile officers, court personnel, child welfare case managers, law enforcement officers, probation officers, attorneys, medical and mental health professionals, civic leaders, members of the faith community, and other concerned citizens.

Attendees will have access to valuable educational opportunities, with attendance certificates available, and Continuing Education Units (CEUs) offered through Jefferson College’s Continuing Education and Workforce Development Office. The event is POST-certified for five hours and CLE-certified for six hours, enhancing its relevance to law enforcement and legal professionals.

Catherine Vannier, Special Resource Prosecutor with the Missouri Office of Prosecution Services, will be the keynote speaker. The morning session will cover critical topics such as lethality and risk assessments, and communicating danger. The afternoon session will focus on self-care with "Surviving Burnout, Maintaining Motivation."
