April Election St. Francois County Issues and Races

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - There are three April 8, 2025 election issues scattered throughout St. Francois County for voters to decide.

Iron Mountain Lake citizens will vote on whether or not to collect a local sales tax on the titling of motor vehicles, trailers, boats, and outboard motors that are subject to state sales tax and purchased from a source other than a licensed Missouri dealer. If approved, the local revenue collected would provide vital services for the citizens of Iron Mountain Lake.

Those voters serviced by the Big River Fire Department would decide whether or not to incorporate the department into the Big River Fire Protection District with a board of 5 directors. Those directors would have the power to impose a $0.30 per $100 assessed valuation levy on all real and personal property.

Voters in the Terre Du Lac Fire Department's service area would face the same vote to incorporate the department into the Terre Du Lac Fire Protection District but with a board of 3 directors. They would also have the power to institute the $0.30 per $100 assessed valuation levy on all real and personal property.

There is one contested seat in the county in the St. Francois County Ambulance District's Sub District Six. Kristina Krissy Kemp and Erik Schonhardt are vying for the position.

KFMO B104 News will provide election coverage after the polls close Tuesday night, April 8.
