(Farmington, MO) The Uplift Overnight Shelter at Farmington could be reopened if funding can be found to accomplish the goal. The issue was talked about at Tuesday's St. Francois County Commission Meeting. The shelter was part of the East Missouri Action Agency and the agency's Nicolle Hahn told those at the meeting they're looking for community partners to help them reestablish the facility.
Hahn explained the Uplift Day Shelter is still providing services to the community yet the overnight facility is also needed. In other business at the meeting commissioners discussed the latest efforts to clarify Senate Bill 190. A special committee has identified 9 discrepancies in the measure that was approved by legislators and signed into law by Governor Mike Parson.
