Boars Head Listeria Lawsuit Filed

St. Louis, Mo. (KFMO) - The first lawsuit has been filed related to the recent Listeria outbreak linked to Boar’s Head deli meats.

An 88-year-old woman from Missouri got sick after eating Boar’s Head liverwurst. According to the complaint filed in St. Louis court, Sue and Patrick Fleming are now seeking upward of $25,000 for injuries and damages, sincluding medical expenses, “loss of enjoyment of life” and “damage to the marital relationship.”

The CDC said that 34 people in 13 states have been sickened in the recent listeria outbreak. Last week, Boar’s Head recalled over 207,000 pounds of liverwurst and other deli meats produced in June.
