Body of Missing Jefferson County Woman Discovered Near De Soto

Jefferson County, Mo. (KFMO) - Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak is announcing the discovery of the remains of Emily Strite, a woman reported missing earlier this year.

On September 28, deputies with the sheriff's office responded to a report of human skeletal remains found in a wooded area near the 4100 block of Frissell Road in De Soto. The remains were discovered by a property owner. Investigators with the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office identified the remains through medical and dental records, confirming them as those of 38-year-old Emily Strite. Strite had been reported missing from the De Soto area in April. At this time, the cause of death remains undetermined, and authorities are actively investigating how her body ended up at the location. The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are working to gather more information.
