Buck Moon this Weekend

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - A full moon weekend is ahead for Parkland residents as NASA officials say the moon will appear full tonight through Monday morning.

It's known as either the Buck Moon or Thunder Moon in reference to early summer.

Buck Moon refers to relatonship with buck deer getting their new antlers this time of summer while thunder moon recognizes summertime thunderstorms.

The moon will have a reddish orange glow and appear larger and brighter than usual.

The full moon will peak Sunday morning at 6:17 a.m.
