Dangerous Cold to Impact the Parkland Overnight Through Tuesday

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - The Parkland is bracing for a stretch of dangerously cold weather starting tonight and lasting through Tuesday. Temperatures will struggle to rise above the upper teens today and Tuesday, with Monday’s highs only reaching the lower 20s.

Overnight lows will plummet, dipping to between 2 and 5 degrees tonight and Monday night. Tuesday night will see slightly higher temperatures but will remain in the upper single digits.

Adding to the extreme conditions, wind chills are expected to drop to -7 degrees overnight tonight and -3 degrees Monday night, posing a significant risk for frostbite and hypothermia for those exposed to the elements.

Relief is in sight as temperatures are forecasted to rebound by Wednesday, with highs climbing into the mid to upper 30s.

• Bring pets indoors and check on neighbors who may need assistance.
