De Soto Man Facing Charges After Chase

(Washington County, MO) A man from De Soto, 39 year old Kenneth Carl Kamer, is facing charges of second degree assault, two counts of tampering with a motor vehicle, eight counts of stealing, three counts of first degree property damage, one count of armed criminal action, leaving the scene of an accident, careless and imprudent driving, and stealing less than $150 in Washington County. The charges stem from an incident in which Kamer is accused of allegedly stealing a vehicle at Washington State Park August 11th. He also faces possible charges of felony resisting arrest by fleeing, and other traffic related charges, from Jefferson County. Reports show Kamer also allegedly led Jefferson County Deputies on a chase from Highways 21 and 110, north of De Soto, to inside De Soto City Limits, before being arrested. Kamer was being held in the Washington County Jail.
