Desloge Board of Aldermen Unanimously Approves Full-Time Fire Chief Position

Desloge, Mo. (KFMO) - The Desloge Board of Aldermen unanimously voted Monday to hire current Fire Chief Jared Meador full-time, a decision that has been in the works for several months.

Meador, who has been serving as fire chief on a part-time basis, will officially transition into the full-time role starting November 1, 2024. The board emphasized that this move is a significant win for the city, its residents, and public safety. The full-time position ensures consistent leadership at the firehouse, particularly during regular working hours, which are often the most challenging for volunteer firefighters to respond due to their daytime jobs.

With Meador continuing to lead the department, Desloge officials believe the community will benefit from enhanced fire protection and quicker response times, further securing the city’s safety.

At this time, Meador will be the only full time firefighter on the department.
