De Soto, Mo. (KFMO) - The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged 28-year-old Timothy Pinson of Farmington with first-degree burglary and theft after an alleged break-in at a De Soto home.
Court records indicate the charges were filed on March 20. Pinson is facing a class B felony charge for burglary, which carries a potential sentence of five to 15 years in prison, and a class D misdemeanor for stealing items worth less than $150, which could result in a fine of up to $500. He was arrested on April 1 and remains in custody at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, where he is being held without bond.
According to the probable-cause statement, the incident occurred when a woman in De Soto contacted police after Pinson allegedly entered her home. The victim reported that Pinson woke her by punching a closet door in the hallway, before stealing a laptop, a Mac Book battery, and a DVD player. Pinson reportedly fled the scene before officers arrived. The woman also told investigators that Pinson had previously stolen a key to the home and that she had made multiple reports to the police regarding his prior trespassing on the property.
The investigation is on going.
