Fredericktown, Mo. (KFMO) - Officials with the City of Fredericktown are announcing the city pool will not open for the upcoming season due to the inability to hire and fully train a pool manager in time.
The pool manager is a vital position responsible for overseeing lifeguard operations, enforcing safety protocols, coordinating scheduling, and managing concessions. Without a qualified manager, city officials say they cannot guarantee the safety and efficiency of the facility’s operations. While the closure may be disappointing to residents, city officials emphasize that the downtime will allow for necessary maintenance and repairs that would be difficult to complete during an open season. These improvements aim to ensure a better experience for swimmers in future summers.
Looking ahead, the city is now accepting applications for a Pool Manager and Assistant Manager for the summer of 2026. Interested individuals can visit City Hall to pick up an application and learn more about the position requirements.
