Heat Advisory for the Parkland

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - Another round of extreme heat is in the forecast this week as a Heat Advisory goes in effect Monday afternoon.

Temperatures Monday are expected to be in the mid 90's and raise to near 100 degrees through Thursday. Heat index values will range from 100 to 110 degrees this week.

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for St. Francois, Iron, Madison, Ste. Genevieve and Washington Counties beginning at 1 p.m. Monday lasting through 7 p.m. Thursday. An Excessive Heat Warning goes into effect at 1 p.m. Monday for Jefferson County until 7 p.m. Thursday.

The combination of high humidity, high temperatures, and light winds will produce dangerous heat index values. Limited rain chances through Thursday will make relief from the heat unlikely.
