Heat Advisory In Effect for Tuesday

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - High heat and humidity are in the forecast for Tuesday in the Parkland.

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the area on Tuesday. Temperatures are expected to hit near 100 degrees, with heat index values reading 105 to 110 degrees Tuesday afternoon. The advisory will be in effect from noon until at least 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Some tips to consider durring this heat wave, drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible.

Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 911.
