Motorcycle Crash on Highway 67 Results in Serious Injuries

Bonne Terre, Mo. (KFMO) - A serious accident involving a motorcycle and a van occurred on Friday, October 11, at 3:51 p.m. on northbound U.S. Highway 67, near St. Francois State Park.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the crash happened when a motorcycle, driven by 32-year-old Tyler A. Burger, of Imperial, was traveling northbound and collided with the rear of the van and overturned, causing Burger to suffer serious injuries. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was airlifted to St. Louis University Hospital by Air Evac for treatment.

The van, which sustained only minor damage, was driven by 88-year-old Joy D. Henthorne of Poplar Bluff. Henthorne was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the accident.

Burger was then arrest by the MSHP for driving while intoxicated, but has since been released.
