Motorcyclist Injured in Route Y Crash Near Brickey Road

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A Bloomsdale man was injured Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle crash on Route Y in St. Francois County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 45-year-old man was riding a 2005 Harley Davidson Road King eastbound on Route Y, just east of Brickey Road, when the motorcycle experienced a mechanical failure around 1:44 p.m. The failure caused the motorcycle to overturn, ejecting the rider. The vehicle then veered off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole guide wire.

The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South.

The motorcycle was towed from the scene.
