Picnic Area Closed at Mastodon State Historic Site

Imperial, Mo. (KFMO) - The picnic area and Spring Branch Trail at Mastodon State State Historic Site, in Imperial, remained closed due to Tuesday's flooding.

The picnic area and all of its amenities are inaccessible due to debris deposited by the flood water. Officials say that the picnic area and Spring Branch trail sustained a considerable amount of damage during the flooding event and it's being assessed.

Visitors are not permitted to get to the creek from park property.

The closures will continue until the necessary repairs are made.
