Public Meeting on Desloge Traffic Roundabout

(Desloge, MO) Officials with the Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an open house community briefing from 4 to 6 p.m. next Tuesday, May 23rd, to discuss improvements to the intersection of Route 8, Business Route 67, and State Street in Desloge. An Area Engineer with MODOT, Chris Crocker, says the project is being implemented to improve safety and traffic flow.

Crocker adds the roundabout's bypass lanes would allow motorists to turn right and avoid going through the intersection. The meeting will be held at Desloge City Hall, located at 300 North Lincoln St. in Desloge. Visitors can stop by anytime between 4 and 6 p.m. to discuss the details of the project with the MoDOT project team. The project is expected to be let in March 2025, with construction beginning as early as summer 2025. During construction, it is anticipated the project will be staged to allow traffic to pass through the intersection, with temporary lane closures as tie-ins to the existing pavement are completed.
