Residential Structure Fire on Hwy AA Quickly Contained by Multiple Departments

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - At approximately 1:28 p.m. on Tuesday, the Doe Run Fire Protection District responded to a residential structure fire on Highway AA.

Upon arrival, firefighters were met with heavy flames already showing through the roof of the home. Fire personnel from both the Doe Run Fire Protection District and the Farmington Fire Department entered the building to begin an aggressive fire attack. The blaze was quickly brought under control, but the scene required extensive overhaul to fully extinguish hot spots and ensure no further risk of flare-ups. Mutual aid companies from multiple surrounding departments responded to assist with water supply and manpower.

Firefighters from the Park Hills, Big River, Pilot Knob, Desloge, and Cherokee Pass departments joined forces in the effort. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
