(St. Francois County, MO) There were a few wrecks in the Parkland Wednesday. in the first crash a Bismarck woman, 64 year old Susan D. Goodman, received moderate injuries. She was involved in a one vehicle crash Wednesday morning in St. Francois County. The wreck took place at 7:10 as Goodman was driving a van south on Highway 67. Troopers with the Highway Patrol report she was driving too fast for conditions when she lost control of the vehicle and it ran off the left side of the road, struck the median, and rolled over coming to rest on its top in the northbound lanes. Goodman was taken to Parkland Health Center North at Bonne Terre.
In the second wreck a 22 year old woman from Park Hills, Rachel N. Smith, suffered serious injuries following a Wednesday afternoon crash in Jefferson County. According to reports from the Highway Patrol Smith was driving a pick up north on Interstate 55, at Highway 67, at 1:45, when she crossed over the striped line and struck the right side of a Diesel truck headed north driven by 55 year old Shaun A. Wilburn, of Fort Worth, Texas. Smith's truck began to spin and crashed into the guard rail. Smith, who was not wearing a seat belt during the wreck, was taken to Mercy Hospital South at St. Louis. Wilburn was not injured.
The third accident saw another woman from Bismarck, 66 year old Stella M. Triplett, was moderately injured. She was hurt in a two vehicle accident, just before 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in St. Francois County. Reports from the Highway Patrol show Triplett was driving east on Highway 32, at Business 32, when she attempted to make a left turn in front of a pick up driven west by 73 year old Dyer E. Cox, of Park Hills and the two vehicles collided. Triplett, who was wearing her seat belt during the crash, was taken to Parkland Health Center South at Farmington. Cox, who was not wearing a seat belt, was not injured.
