Shepherd Mountain Bike Park

(Ironton, MO.) Construction on the Shepherd Mountain Bike Park at Ironton is coming along well. An organizer and advisor for the trail effort, Klint Silvey, says many people should be visiting as early as later this summer.

According to Silvey funding comes from the Iron County Economic Development Partnership, which received money from Ameren as part of the Tomsauk Reservoir flood incident from 15 years ago. Silvey explains the mountain provides one of the premiere park facilities in the nation because of its terrain. A grand opening is expected in February of next year with 5 complete trails.
