Standoff in Bonne Terre

(Bonne Terre, MO) A Bonne Terre man is being held for evaluation after a stand off with police that took place after 5 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. According to Bonne Terre Police it was reported the man had allegedly shot his dog and may have fired a second shot at a home on Long Street. When officers arrived he retreated into the house and refused to come out. Negotiators were able to talk with him and he came surrendered out without further incident a couple of hours later. A gun was found on the scene although authorities say the man never displayed the weapon or pointed it towards anyone. His name isn't being released pending the filing of formal charges.
