(Jefferson City, MO.) There's a new state senator for district three after the August primary election. Elaine Gannon wins the State Senate District 3 race against two other individuals. Gannon carried the district with the help of her home county, Jefferson County, showing the largest disparity between the three candidates. Reynolds and Iron counties voted more in favor of candidate Joshua Barrett. Gannon carried the rest of the counties in the district with slim margins, leaving her with a more than 1500 vote win combined throughout the district. Kent Scism came in third place in all the counties within the district. The state senate district 3 encompasses the southern half of Jefferson County, Washington, Iron, Reynolds, St Francois, and Ste Genevieve counties. Gannon will replace Gary Romine who vacated the office early after being appointed to the state tax commission by Governor Parson.
In the contested race between State Representative Dale Wright and challenger Bryant Wolfin, Dale Wright will reatin his position with around 59% of the vote to Wolifin's 41%. No Democrats filed for the poisition so Wright is the winner of the position.
The State Representative Race for District 115 Cyndi Buchheit-Courtway came out on top. She will face her Domcratic opponent, Cynthia D. Nugent in November.
The non partisan issue of expanding Medicaid was passed in Missouri.with almost 52% of voters saying yes.
