Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - With today being the first official day of summer specialists with the St. Francois County Health Center remind you to stay cool as we head into hot temperatures and increased humidity.

The Environmental Public Health Specialist and Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for the Health Center, Donovan Kleinberg, says heat related illness comes in stages.

Kleinberg explains Heat Stroke is the most severe stage as your body loses so much water it can no longer sweat and your temperrature rises quickly.

According to Kleinberg if you see anyone who may be red in the face, exhausted, or have a slower response time while working or playing in the heat, call 911 and get help immediately.
