Sunday Wreck in St. Francois County

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A Doe Run man, 87-year-old Donald A. Nelson, is recovering from moderate injuries after a two vehicle crash in St. Francois County Sunday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident took place at 5:15 p.m., when Nelson's car was stopped in traffic at 3209 Highway 221 in the eastbound lane. Nelson made a left hand turn into the path of a pickup driven west by 59-year-old Miles C. Andress, of Park Hills. The truck crashed into the right side of Nelson's car.

Nelson was taken to Parkland Health Center at Farmington. Both Andress and Nelson were wearing their seat belts during the crash.
