Perryville, Mo. (KFMO) - TG Missouri, a division of Toyoda Gosei, has announced plans to invest approximately $97 million in its Perryville facility over the next three years. The expansion, stemming from discussions during Governor Mike Parson’s Trade Mission to Japan in 2023, includes the installation of advanced equipment, increased automation, and a commitment to maintain at least 1,600 full-time jobs with benefits in Perryville.
“We're excited to see TG Missouri continuing to grow in Perryville,” Governor Parson said. “This significant investment highlights the success of our international Trade Missions and strengthens Missouri’s standing as a top location for business.”
The Perryville facility, TG North America’s main location, has been in operation since 1987 and produces critical automotive components, including steering wheels, airbags, and plastic trim parts. These products serve customers across the United States, Canada, Japan, and other global markets.
Robert Patrick, President of TG Missouri, emphasized the company’s long-standing ties to Perryville. “For over 35 years, TG has been an integral part of the local economy, supporting job creation and industrial growth. This expansion reflects our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and improving quality of life for our team members and their families.”
Local leaders also applauded the expansion. Perryville Mayor Larry Riney expressed gratitude for the partnership, while Brent Buerck, Perryville City Administrator, credited the Hawthorn Foundation for facilitating key connections during the Governor’s visit to Japan.
Crystal Jones, Executive Director of the Perry County Economic Development Authority, noted that retaining 1,600 jobs ensures the region’s long-term economic success. “TG Missouri continues to be a key driver of growth and opportunity in southeast Missouri.”
The investment was achieved without state incentives, showcasing Missouri’s appeal for global businesses. Governor Parson’s Trade Missions have been instrumental in generating nearly 2,000 jobs and over $3 billion in investments statewide since he took office.
