Two Injured in Serious Crash on Highway 67 in St. Francois County

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - A serious crash on Highway 67 at Commonwealth Drive left two Ironton residents with significant injuries on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 5:07 p.m.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the driver of a car, 35-year-old Ashley Lauer, of Ironton, attempted to pass another car, driven by 69-year-old Stanley McCrorey, of Bonne Terre. Lauer’s vehicle struck the side of McCrorey's vehicle, causing Lauer’s vehicle to go airborne. Both Lauer and her passenger, 29-year-old Michael Sexton, were ejected from the vehicle.

Lauer and Sexton suffered serious injuries and were transported by ARCH Helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for treatment. Neither were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. McCrorey, who was wearing his seatbelt, sustained only minor damage to his vehicle and was uninjured.
