(Farmington, MO) The Uplift Shelter in Farmington is open for a warming shelter during the day and an overnight shelter during certain cold temperature periods. The East Missouri Action Agency manages the effort and a Program Director with the Group, Rob Baker, says they made the decision to open the shelter during the day when the temperature is under 32 degrees.
Baker adds, if your homeless, and need a place to stay overnight during the extreme cold come to the Uplift Shelter at 5 pm for overnight resources. The shelter would then close at 7 am the next morning and persons using it would need to return at 5 pm. Baker reminds everyone that the shelter would only be open during the day if the temperature is below 32 degrees. The services available includes a shower, laundry services, and a hot meal. The Uplift Shelter at Farmington is located at 609 Wallace Road in Farmington.
