Veterans Honor Walk Named for Marine Staff Sergeant

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The new Veterans Honor Walk at Engler Park in Farmington has been named for a Marine Staff Sergeant and Farmington High School graduate. Marine Staff Sergeant Trevor Spink was a Farmington High School graduate and member of the US Marine Corps. On July 10, 2004, Spink died due to a non-combat related vehicle accident in Al Anbar Province Iraq. At the official naming ceremony held Thursday, Farmington Mayor Larry Forsythe made a brief speech honoring Spink and all other area veterans whose dedications now line the trail at Engler Park. He explains how the idea for the Honor Walk came about.

If you are interested in honoring a veteran that you know, visit Farmington City Hall to pick up an application, or visit your local Veterans' Organization.
