VFW Memorial Day Service Schedule

     Farmington VFW Post 5896, the Farmington American Legion Post 416, and Farmington High School's JROTC group will spend Memorial Day honoring our fallen comrades Monday. The list of cemeteries and other locations the groups will visit this year include the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Farmington at 6:45 am, the Lutheran Cemetery off HHighway 32 at 7, and Hillview Memorial Gardens on Westmeyer Road at 7:15. Stops will also be made at the Copenhagen cemetery at 7:30, William Murphy at 7:45, the Knights of Pythias at 8 o'clock, New Calvary at 8, and the Masonic Cemetery and Old Calvary cemeteries on South Henry at 8 and 8:25 am.
     After a short intermission the visits will pick up at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at 9 o'clock and continue at Libertyville at 9:30 and Knob Lick at 9:50. The next stop will be at the Madison County Courthouse for a ceremony at 10:20. The groups will then move to Doe Run's Pendleton Cemetery at 10:50. The Doe Run I.O.O.F. Masonic Lodge is the next stop at 11 am. and after that it's Parkland Health Center of Farmington at 11:30. The final stops on the honor service schedule are Park View at noon, Three Rivers at 12:30, Masonic at 1, and the St. Francois County Courthouse at 1:30. The final stop is at Farmington's VFW Post 5896 at 1:50. Officials encourage all members of the public to attend any of these services to pay tribute to all those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in service of their country.
