Water Service Restored for Most Ironton Residents, Boil Advisory Remains in Effect

Ironton, Mo. (KFMO) - American Water has restored water service to most customers in Ironton following an outage caused by issues at the city’s water treatment plant.

While water pressures may be lower than normal initially, they are expected to return to standard levels soon. The precautionary boil water advisory remains in effect until further notice. Residents are advised to boil any water intended for drinking or cooking for at least three minutes. Water is safe for other uses, such as bathing and cleaning.

Mayor Jeff Stinson expressed appreciation for residents’ patience and reiterated that both the City of Ironton and American Water are committed to ensuring safe and reliable service. Updates will be provided as soon as new information becomes available.

KFMO B104 News will continue to monitor this story and provide updates on air and online.
