t is with deep sorrow and profound love that we share the passing of Charlotte Nichols-Stevens a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who peacefully passed away on January 13, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born on September 30, 1942, Charlotte’s faith and her family were the things she held most dear and where she found her greatest joy. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a devoted mother to Jennifer and Allison, raising them with faith, love, and respect.
Her close and loving relationships with her family set an example of ongoing love and connection. But it was as a mom and FeFe (grandmother) that Charlotte truly made her mark. She was a source of comfort, love, and guidance, always supporting the dreams and growth of the people she loved.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, and siblings. Whether celebrating or simply enjoying quiet moments together, she brought warmth and a calming presence to her family.
Professionally, Charlotte was a trailblazer, known for her exceptional intellect, work ethic, and leadership. She faced challenges with grace and determination, earning the respect of those around her, all the while showing her daughters that true success lies within family.
She created a legacy of love, faith, and accomplishment that will forever be cherished.
Charlotte is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Jay) Moser and Allison (Mark) Stewart; grandchildren, Jacob Moser, Jacey Moser, Cole Stewart, and Quinn Stewart; sisters, Doris Stevens and Susan (Jack) Klien; brother David (Nancy) Gillispie; sister-in-law Janet Nichols; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Ada ‘Winebarger’ Fairless and Woodrow “Sandy” Nichols, her brother, Lee Roy Nichols, and her brother-in-law, Sterlyn Stevens.
Charlotte’s family is filled with deep gratitude for the kindness and care that she received from the caregivers at Preferred Hospice led by Dr. Jonathon Bird, and for the thoughtfulness and generosity of the Sargent family in her final days.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 15, 10 – 12, followed by services 12 – 1 at Horton Wampler Funeral Home, 1 Federal Park Ave., Park Hills, MO 63640 with Rev. Faron Thebeau. Burial immediately following at St. Francois Memorial Park Cemetery in Bonne Terre, MO.
