Howard Kenneth Royer, age 94 of Fredericktown, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the Baptist Home in Ironton, Missouri. He was born on October 3, 1929, in the Silver Mines Community near Fredericktown, to Harmon Howard and Audrey Jewel (Means) Royer.
On March 26, 1954, he was united in marriage to Norma Geneva Griffith, she survives in Fredericktown.
Other survivors include his children: Michael (Marilyn) Royer, Daniel (Lynn) Royer and Sherilyn “Sissy” (Roger) Kennedy all of Fredericktown; nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; three brothers – Roy (Joyce) Royer, Louis (Barbara) Royer and Shirley (Gracie) Royer all of Fredericktown; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son – Rodney Royer; three brothers – Charles, Paul Dean, Lee Gale Royer and one sister – Linda Starkey.
Howard was a United States Army veteran, he was raised on a farm and continued this throughout his life; he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, telling stories and loved to talk; he was a member of the Silver Mines General Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., also on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Brad Crocker and Bro. Adam Webb officiating.
Interment will be at the Christian Cemetery in Fredericktown with full military honors.
