Paul Vernon Koenig, of Farmington, entered eternal rest on July 29, 2024, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff at the age of 87. He was born on December 28, 1936, in Pocahontas, Missouri, to Adolph and Flora (Petzold) Koenig.
Paul is survived by his children, Pamela Polaski of Farmington and Joshua Koenig of Cape Girardeau, his grandchildren, Lilly Polaski, Elissa Koenig, Shelby Koenig, Colvin Koenig, and Abbigail Koenig, his sister, Esther Reisenbichler of Bertrand, his special friend, Mike (Darlene) Berg of Farmington, along with many other family members and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sharon Elaine (Graham) Koenig, his son, Douglas Koenig, his sisters, Olga Ressler, Rosie Pierce, Leona Thomas, Melba Petty, Nelda Langer, and Olivia Yeager, and his special canine companion, Sugar.
Paul proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked as a security officer for the Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center. He was a man of strong Christian faith and was a member of Covenant Bible Church. Paul enjoyed reading and fishing. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
