(Park Hills, MO) The top seeded Central Rebels defeated the last seed Arcadia Valley Tigers 83-43 in to begin the boys’ first round of the 68th annual Bob Sechrest Jr. Central Christmas Tournament. Going up by as much as over 40, the Rebels did not surrender the lead for the entirety of the game.
With home court advantage, Central went ahead in the first minute and took off shortly thereafter. The Tigers were outscored 54-22 in the first half and 29-21 in the second. 26 of Arcadia Valley’s 43 points were scored by Dillon Mueller with the team shooting 58% from the field.
The Rebels were led in scoring by Cayden Casey and Jobe Bryant, both scoring 20 apiece. The two were joined in double digit scoring by Braydon Berry (15p) and Zack Boyd (12p). Berry additionally gathered 11 assists securing him a double-double.
Central will play the Steelville Cardinals on Thursday, Dec. 28 at 4 pm and Arcadia Valley will play the Jefferson Blue Jays on Friday, Dec. 29 at 1 pm.
