Bonne Terre, Mo. (KFMO) - The North County Lady Raiders overcame a slow start and a 5-run deficit to run rule East Carter on Monday, 17-7.
The Lady Redbirds came out swinging, picking up 5 runs in the top of the first on 4 hits capped off by a 2RBI triple.
That'd be the majority of the offense for East Carter. Meanwhile, North County brought themselves back in, using a 2-run first and a 6-run second to take a 8-6 lead. The Lady Raider middle, Madison Carroll, Amy Layton, and Bailey Wimmer were particularly impressive, combining for 6 of North County's 8 hits and 7 of the 17 eventual runs.
Four runs in the fourth, and fourth runs in the fifth, and North County would claim the come-from-behind run rule victory, 17-7.
The Lady Raiders are now 1-3. They play at Kelly on Tuesday.
