Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - Career milestones were set during Central's straight set win over South Iron, 25-17, 25-21, 25-15, on Tuesday.
Central (6-5-1) jumped out to large leads in all three sets. Although the Lady Panthers (5-5-1) were able to keep themselves close in the first two sets, even tying things up at 21-21 in Set 2, the Lady Rebels were able to rally at key times to come through at the end. Lady Rebels senior Blair Sitton was set up for success all night, leading all attackers with 20 kills.
Early in the second set, senior Sydney Miles recorded her 1000th assist as a varsity player, with Central taking a timeout to celebrate the achievement. Head coach Olivia Casey says Miles is a special player to have as a distributor.
Sophomore Mia Monges had 7 kills, senior Elliot Woods recorded 5 kills. Senior Tayler McMahan had 2 aces. South Iron senior Emmy Gayle led South Iron with 6 kills.
Central next plays Thursday against another Iron County team, the Arcadia Valley Lady Tigers. South Iron plays Thursday against Greenville.
