(Ironton, MO) The Ste. Genevieve Dragons trailed by a point entering the final quarter against Arcadia Valley Tuesday and outscored the Lady Tigers 16-14 in the period to win by the slim margin, 43-42.
The game was close throughout. At the end of one quarter, AV led 10-8, and at halftime nothing had been decided with a 19-19 tie, while the Lady Tigers held a one point advantage after three quarters, 28-27.
Kayden Huck led the Dragons with 12 points, 7 from the foul line, and 9 rebounds. Alli Byington contributed 9 points in the winning effort. Ste. Gen brought a never quit attitude into the game and Dragons Head Coach, Jordanna Walk-Robinson says that was the difference maker.
Arcadia Valley got a game high 19 points from Alyssa Glanzer but turnovers were the big story in this one. The Lady Tigers had two more turnovers than Ste. Gen, 32-30. AV Head Coach, Ricky Turnbough on the turnovers in the loss.
Ste. Genevieve improves to 3-2 on the season and host Kingston on Thursday. The Lady Tigers fall to 0-7 and are off until the 37th Lady Rebels Christmas Tournament that begins December 26th.
