(Park Hills, MO) Mineral Area College has named Tony Irons as the sixth head coach in men’s program history. Irons has coached Vashon High School for the last nine years and has collected seven MSHSAA State Championships and accumulated an overall record of 216-38.
Irons has coached at College of the Ozarks (2006-2009), Imagine College Prep (2009-2012) and Madison College Prep (2012-2015) prior to his time at Vashon.
In a press release from Mineral Area College, Athletic Director Jim Gerwitz says:
“We are excited to have [Tony] Irons as the sixth Head Coach in Mineral Area Basketball History. Tony’s experience developing high level athletes in the Midwest will propel MAC Basketball to the next level.”
Iron’s replaces Greg Heiar, who left MAC in April to join Trinity Valley Community College.
