(St. Louis, MO) The St. Louis Cardinals claimed a series victory over the Cincinnati Reds after Thursday’s 6-1 win. The Cardinals used the long ball to dispatch the Reds at Busch Stadium.
Masyn Winn homered early, and Brandan Donavan launched a pinch-hit big fly over the right field wall in the late innings.
Winn, Lars Nootbaar, and Thomas Saggese each had two hits in the game, while the redbirds as a team collected 10 total hits.
Sonny Gray allowed a run and two hits, over six innings in the win. He struck out nine Reds. Andrew Kittredge struck out two as well, and JoJo Romero picked up his first save of 2024.
The Reds scored in the sixth inning tying the game at 1-1.
