Bismarck Man Dies After Crash

(Libertyville, MO) A man from Bismarck, 86 year old Norvel M. Kneusel, is dead after a two vehicle crash Tuesday morning in St. Francois County. Highway Patrol reports show the accident took place at the intersection of Highways OO and DD near Libertyville. Troopers with the Patrol say a van driven north on OO, by James D. Nicholson of Doe Run, crashed into an SUV driven east on DD, by Kneusel as he pulled into Nicholson's path in an attempt to cross the intersection. Kneusel, and his passenger, 64 year old James B. Silva of Ironton, received serious injuries and were flown to Mercy Hospital South at S. Louis. Kneusel later died from his injuries. Nicholson, who received minor injuries, was transported to Parkland Health Center. All of those involved in the crash were wearing their safety devices at the time of the wreck.
