(Bonne Terre, MO) Bonne Terre Chamber of Commerce members are looking ahead to the new year after the annual awards ceremony was held Saturday night. Chamber members, family, and friends packed the Bonne Terre Knights of Columbus Hall. Several awards were handed out including the KFMO B104 Business Leader of the Year Award which was given to The President and Dealer Principal of Dave Mungenast, Dave Mungenast Jr. Munegenast was represented by the General Manager of St. Louis Honda, Jim Davies and the company's Business Development manager, Shan Herwig. Herwig told the crwod they were honored to be included in this group of Bonne Terre community leaders.
The St. Francois County Rotary Service Above Self Award was given to Dorothy Johnson who's known as the Christmas Tree Lady in Bonne Terre. The KTJJ KREI 110% Award was presented to T.J. Isgrig. The Chamber's Hometown Hero award was given to Officer Layne Burns who died in the line of duty in March as well as his partner Officer Garrett Worley, who was wounded alongside Burns, and Officer Richard Mackley, who came to their aid. The Bonne Terre Chamber of Commerce Elite Service Award went to KFMO B104 News Director, Mike Ramsey. The Hall of Fame Award went to Jim Sowers and the chamber's Special Award was given to Ron Fox, Jim Akins, and the group Friends for a Better Bonne Terre. The Daily Journal Citizen of the Year Award was handed to an educator in the North County Schools, Leigh Ragsdale Knoderer.
