Budget Restrictions if FRA Not Passed

(Jefferson City, MO) Missouri Governor, Mike Parson, is urging Missouri Senators to pass the Federal Reimbursement Allowance so the state's budget won't face withholdings caused by lost federal funds. The Governor says if the FRA isn't approved as soon as possible, necessary, and substantial, budget restrictions will have to be made.

According to Parson if the FRA funding doesn't come through the Missouri Healthnet Program would lose 591 million dollars in fiscal year 2022 and 788 million in fiscal year 2023. Payments from the program would also be reduced by 1.52 billion in 2022 and over 2 billion in 2023. Legislators have the rest of this month to pass the FRA agreement.
