Dan Schunks Retiring This Month

(Park Hills, MO) The last remaining member of the Original Mineral Area College Kicks Band, and current Conductor of the group, Dan Schunks, is retiring. His final show with the Kicks Band is set for May 18th. Schunks says a special Kicks Band performance has been put together for his farewell concert.

Schunks also conducts the Community Symphony Band and the final show of the group will be held May 9th. Schunks says this show features some of his favorite pieces.

Schunks has directed the Kicks Band for the last 30 years. He was a band director for the West County Schools and Band Director in the North County School District for many years. Both the Community Band and Kicks Band shows will be held at 7:30 in the Mineral Area College Fine Arts Theater on the Park Hills Campus of Mineral Area College.
