Fenton Man Charged With DWI Deaths

(Jefferson County, MO) The Fenton man, who was involved in the crash that killed a Bonne Terre family Tuesday night in Jefferson County, is facing charges. 26 year old David Thurby was arrested Wednesday and charged with 3 counts of DWI causing two or more deaths, along with multiple misdemeanor charges. Troopers with the Highway Patrol say Thurby was headed east on Highway 30, just west of Upper Byrnes Mill Road, when he failed to keep a proper lookout and rear-ended a car being driven by 25-year-old Lacey Newton, killing her and her finance, 30 year old Cordell Williams, and the couples' 4 month old boy. They were all pronounced dead at the scene. Thurby admitted to authorities that he had been drinking. He was found to have a blood alcohol level of .192 percent, more than twice the legal limit.
