(Park Hills, MO) The new MAC Tech Industry and Technology Building, on the Park Hills campus of Mineral Area College, is ready for classes after a ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony Thursday. The President of Mineral Area College, Dr. Joe Gilgour, spoke to the crowd saying the facility has already had a huge economic impact on the community.
The State Representative of the 117th District, Mike Henderson, explains the opportunity to get the project going came from many individuals and groups.
The President of US Tool Group, Bruce Williams was also a part of the process in getting the building together and he also spoke saying he's grateful for the work so many people have done to bring greater education to the Parkland.
The State Representative of the 116th District, Dale Wright, was one of several legislators who worked behind the scenes in Jefferson City to help acquire some of the funding approvals needed to build the facility and he says began asking for funding when he first became a legislator.
The Industry and Technology Center is an 80,500 square foot facility. It will gain more space with an automotive section making the total size of the building about 100,000 square feet when complete.
